Application:

• Important intermediate to synthesis Prostaglandins, some Antibiotics, lipid-lowering drug Lovastatin and Simvastatin.
• Versatile protecting reagent for amines, amides, and especially alcohols.
• Can be selectively removed in the presence of a t-BuPh2Si protected alcohol.

Storage:

Flammable & corrosive solid. Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store under inert gas. Moisture sensitive. Handle and store under inert gas. Hydrolyses readily.
